Proflight Towers in Modesto sells coated 65lb bricks... I think for ~$35.

I got old elevator weights from a scrap metal yard for 30 cents a lb. Nice bricks 60 lbs each. Check it out

Joe,

Last year Proflight sold their 65 lb coated new lead bars for about $50 each at the boat show. And, on the last day of the show they were blowing them out for $35 each - I got 6 - I guess they did not want to ship them back.

The same new lead uncoated can be purchased for $0.50/lb at ALCO in San Leandro (just south of the Oakland Airport off of 880).

Coating can be done by the novice but it costs and it is a lot of work. I recommend Proflight. They do a real nice job.

i can get those same bars for .32 a pound and jsut coated them with dip it.

What about so.cal. I can get lead Ingot bricks for $0.96 a lbs down here but $.50 a lbs. sounds better. Coat them with a do it yourself paint on bed liner like line-x?

I went to the show last Saturday and they wanted $60 for a 65lb bar. Maybe I should go there this Sunday.............

call a metal recycler and you can get them for about .30-.40 per pound.

chuck, It was trash. but I found a place in Riverside and I am going to go look at it next week. When I talked to them on the phone they said they have 2000lbs sheets of clean lead. I will let you know next week.
