Since I quit smoking and gained like 20lbs I decided to go back to a 140+ for this season. With all the praise of CWB's lineup and my positive experience with their boards in the past I wanted to go back to CWB. After reading reviews and suggestions I started my search for a 05-06 pure or flame. Searching closeouts on the net I came across a leftover 04 absolute platinum and long story short......

The best part.....$280 shipped....brand new in the box. So I thought I should give them a plug.... www.seattlewatersports.com. The sales guy over there was really cool, called me back with shipping options/prices and got the board shipped out that day. Needless to say I'm stoked! Unfortunately I'm gonna be out of town the next 3 weekends so I won't be able to ride it for a month.

Nice looking board. I have never ridden a CWB. Looks pretty sweet. Did the bindings come with the deal?

Nice deal Ryan. Has this board changed much since the 04'? What are people's opinions on how this board compares to the 05' and 06'? I'm thinking of getting the same board, and am curious if I should go with the 06' or go for an older one for a deal.

Thanks guys. yeh, not too happy about the poundage, but I'm running 3-5 times/week now so its finally starting to come off. Getting back out on the water should help also.

DC, no, the transits I picked up late last season.

Jeffrey, the 04 Absolute is basically the same board as the 05/06 flame. CWB changed the Absolute shape in 05 and increased the rocker to over 3". From what I've read it gave the board even more pop, but also slowed it down a little. I also don't think it changed much for 06. I wanted the flame or pure since I don't need/want the huge rocker and it should be a little faster.

Ya you are right Ryan that is a great board faster then the 05/06 Absolute and a great deal at 280 shipped. All the Absolute shapes are great boards!!!

SICK SICK!!

I was trying to sell those at the boat show. The platinum flame/pure shape will be hard to find soon.

I have an 03 platinum and an 04 platinum

Ryan, congrats on the new set up. I too quit smoking at the beginning of the year. I smoked over 20 years and know how tough it can be. Hitting the gym and eating right will help. Enjoy the new ride. One of my favorite boards.

J-rod ~ Is the flame a platinum board? or like the 04 Absolute I have?
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       03-30-2006, 8:39 AM Reply
The flames and pures are non-platinum.

I was referring just to the shape.

Yo...can you bring my Marius to the SR?

Too bad it's not a hyperlite!! TOTALLY JUST KIDDING .(Just poking fun at a lot of recent threads) That's a good looking setup, let us know how you like it as soon as you get a chance to ride it. What board/size were you riding pre-20lbs?

PS: Does a 20lb shift make a considerable difference on how a board performs?

Hahn, good for you....keep it up man, its worth it. I smoked for 15 years (yeh, started at 15)....and I thought I'd never be able to quit, but I've been 8 months now and I'll be damned if I ever go back. You're past the hard part. I think once you get past 3-4 months (breaking the habit of it) its gets much easier.

kingskrew, I was riding a Temet/Murray 138. I was trying it out to see if I liked the smaller board (rode a 143 trip before). I liked it at first, but as I put on weight the board started to slow down and the landings got harder on my knees. I think a 140+ is where I need to be.

Great board choice, I have always like the graphics of those and that was a sweet deal on a Platinum. Good to hear that you guys are making great decisions for your future health, stay strong.

I got that same 04 Absolute Plat, then i sold it to my friend and bought me an 05' Absolute Plat. Then a few days ago, i did a boardslide over a hugh rock(LOL) after landing out into the flats cuz my friend was driving hella close to the shore and destroyed the board. So that same day, i got this board(CWB Marius) at a local board shop on sale for $319. :-) I'll never go back to Hyperlite, thats fo sho!!

You post reminds me of the CWB superdeal I found two years ago. I was at West Marine that June to get some new trailer tires. While I was there, I saw a pretty nice CWB Ecstacy 139 board with the XL Comp bindings. I was moderately interested but then I saw the price: $120. That moderate interest turned into a definite purchase pretty quickly.

That board is pretty sweet. It's almost the exact same board as the pre-05 Sol. I keep going to West Marine at least once a week during June and July hoping to find a deal like that again. So far, nothing has even come close.

Mark, What binding do you have on your Marius? I like the camo
Old    wakeboarder408            04-01-2006, 6:04 PM Reply
Jon, its the 05' LF Transit LE(camo). Im actually thinking about selling them to get the new Watsons so if you wear a size Med, let me know. They are in excellent condition and only been used about 5-6 times.

Small wake, I just recently got done working at Wiley's in Seattle and know that they had one sitting in the back. Give Grant a call down there, (206)762-1300.

Small wake, come by Cope & Mcphetres in Santa Clara on April 29(Sat.). They're having their annual 1 day sale so you might find some good deals on boards or whatever.

Haha, funny you mentioned that I am acctually working for hyperlite during that sale.
Old    wakeboarder408            04-19-2006, 10:23 PM Reply
Hook me up on some Hyperlite Murray bindings. LOL! Im thinking about those or the LF Shane bindings. Ultimate Watersports had the Murray's on sale a few weeks ago for $259, I should of gotten them then.

Yeah. Im the 14 year old kid helping people.

Depending on your foot size we may not have the Murray boots availiable yet.

I am still waiting for my XXL Murrays that i ordered at the boat show.

I normally wear a Med, but I had the Parks in a Mini-Med before and they fit perfect but i know the Murray's dont have the Minis out yet.
