If you just need to resize for wakeworld microsoft has a powertoy that does it pretty easily.

If you use XP then the powertoys download that evilone posted the link is the best. It is so simple to use. All you have to do after downloading and installing it is right click on the pic you want to resize and chose resize. It will be a new choice under the right click dropdown menu.

On a mac I usually just apple + Shift + 4.

Open in preview

Save as jpg quality 6-8.

Its pretty quick.
