So this year I/my family wants to vacation with boat in tow. I have been looking at waterfront properties some with docks and others without. I don't mind pulling boat in and out of water, but it would be cool to just leave it in and down by the dock. However, I am really worried about having stuff stolen, I don't mind unloading boards and stuff, but I am not taking amps and speakers off every night. Am I being to cautious...what have you guys done when going away from home?

Where could I get some covers for some pro-80's... Someone told me about an alarm will have to look into that.

Bum's the crew out when stuff is stolen, kind of ruins the vacation. Insurance pays but can't repay a ruined vacation.

Give Dan a call, he had a recent theft and had an alarm system installed, and of course you can discusss some covers for your Pro-80's 916-879-5209

We just got back from our vacation towing our boat with us. My only real concern came during a gas stop late at night (shady characters made me feel uneasy).

My advice would be to call ahead and find a storage facility to keep your boat while it's not in use. Just call a marina in the area you are going to visit, they should be able to let you know any options and costs. As a precaution, I did take the tower speakers down each day. And I carried them back to the hotel room with us. I also locked the hitch and put a chain through the wheels as extra protection. But, if a pro thief wants your boat or anything else for that matter- it's as good as gone!!

Loop a chain through the trailer wheels and around the axle. Everything else not permanently attached to the boat, i would remove. Someone could have your speakers and amps given less than a minute, a electric drill and a pair of wire cutters.

Ewing: Contact Wet Sounds, they have covers for the Pro-80s.

Also with the trick connect, you can simply remove em and drop em in the ski locker as well. That's the beauty of that setup.

A 9mm is a great theft deterrent. My boat insurance covers theft of my stereo equiptment. Although it would be a bummer if it was stolen, at least I know I'm covered.
Board More/Work Less!
