my local shop tells me that LF bindings are designed with a thicker footbed and made to save ACL injuries on landing my helping you kness go forward and not out to the side. Is this true??

hmmm.. do they sell cars too?

thicker footbeds do lots of things. and lots of companies make thick footbeds. your shop is laying it on pretty thick.

I am looking to get out of my LF teams because they are very stiff and I am having problems with my repaired ACL.

As for the footbed, I can't see how the thickness would add to knee control. Actually i think it would get worse if too thick because of the lack of controll in the extra squish. Do they use thicker footbeds in running shoes? Also the farther your foot gets away from the board the higher the stresses imposed on the legs so thicker footbeds would cause more problems IMO.

Ask your pro shop what is the density of the foam and does that not play a bigger roal in the stability of the binding than does the thickness fo the foam?

LF bindings do have helium on some of their footbeds... i have no idea if it is meant to help your acl, but they are really comfy.
