So now that Book 1.4 has arrived what is the deal with the subscription? I read somewhere that if you subscribed prior to book 1.1' release you would be a lifetime subsciber? Does anyone know? I will be first in line to renew if needed, or if I am in fact a lifetime subscriber, I'll donate. What a great magazine, the picture of Ruck in 1.3 with the Space Shuttle in the backround just rules.

If you subscribed before the 1.1 release party, then you're a lifetime member. http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/431254.html

Have you looked into ordering that print of Ruck?

I just got my second issue of the Standerd and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone even considering picking up a subscription. Incredible photography, in-depth articles, and no ugly cluttered ads. awesome!

That's great thanks Scott, I hope they keep this going. And yes, I am looking into purchasing that shot along with a couple more. Thanks again and Roddyrod is right, if you haven't yet, pick up an issue, you won't be disappointed.

One random thing, anyone see Henshaw's shot in the 1.4 book where he almost doing a tucknee like on a skateboard? What is that called? I've never seen anyone bend their leg like that on a wakeboard.

The Standerd is great! Really refreshing. I can keep them laying around forever. I really like looking back at the pics. I think it's going to breed a lot of good photographers.

Is there a way to find out if we are lifers?

In my last issue there was not any kind of renewal form so I am hoping that means I don't need to.

Somebody make sure and post when they get 2.1 so that we know if we are missing out.

Jason - I think I paid like $35. totally worth it. there are way more pictures, and the articles are better than both WBM and Alliance. plus, you can pick up both of those for free at most local shops.

and I am not sure if I am considered a lifer either. I signed up pretty early though, so I would guess I am.

somehow ive been gettin wbm for free for the last 3 years. maybe it was some promo deal when i signed up for wwa each year. whatever. i dont even look at ads ever. usually i flip through and look at the pics and then it sits on my coffee table or next to the loilet for a few months till my wife throws it away.

I AM A STANDERD LIFER!!!

I want to do what i can to continue to support them though, whether it be buying multiple copies of RLAND from the standerd store, or purchasing a print or two to add some life to my walls...

and if I remember the henshaw shot correctly, he's grabbing japan. You can tweak it behind you like that (which is also how an oriental should be done, but that's another can of worms), or you can just grab mute and tuck your knee down. Either way, when done properly, it's one of the sickest grabs ever.

I had a transworld skateboarding mag here that had the latter method, but I have misplaced it. If I find it in a timely fashion, I'll post a scan of it. It's one of my favorite cover shots.
