tried to surf with a kid with me on the landlock today
got the wake dialed in
1/2 center stock tank
front tank empty
full darkside (I like the term...ha!)
750lb fat sac in the locker
5 40lb pop bags and a 60lb kid in the side seat
10.4 mph
wedge in the 1st position.....just barely deployed

we got up but could never get in the sweet spot
nor could we get good positioning on the board
eventually the front of the board went under

got any advice how we could dbl surf...on the same board?
anyone?
thanks

First you would need a board that will handle the weight of both riders. You then need to position the riders such that the front back weighting is setup to allow for speed changes. To far toward the back of the board and board will slow down to far forward you would catch the boat.

a larger, more stable board always helps when surfing tandem

well
we did it tonight
the key for me was not having to dbl surf backside
we rode with the rope as long as we wanted, then threw the rope and only managed a few seconds

once we get our communication down better....we should be able to surf for a-while

next time I will take the video camera

a board larger then the landlock would even make things easier

I wonder if Frank over at Waterski America would loan me a long board...or better yet....weigh down that monster 247 of his and let us give it a try!

Cliff,

We will have a stack of boards at Kimbell Bend on the Brazos River above Lake Whitney on the weekend 22nd and 23rd of June. Come up on Saturday and ride with us.
