I had posted another thread about wakesurfing behind our 04 X-Star, we just couldn't do it and we thought we didn't have enough weight. Well, one day we played around with the ballast, port side full (250 lbs.), KGB full (250 lbs.) and the starboard side 3/4 of the way full (187.50 lbs.) We had only three people in the boat and drove straight. We also had some small wakesurf boards to work with. The Liquid Force skimskate (54")and a fish surfboard. Anyway, to make a long story short, it was all a matter of foot placement on the board. Once we figured that out, we were wakesurfing non stop. So you don't need lead or a fat sac to do it although it might be nice to make the wake bigger for more tricks. Hope this helps anyone having problems like we were.
