I just purchased a new 2006 Supra 24 SSV. It has the upgraded 340HP engine and the standard prop. I am a beginner at wakeboarding so I probably won't be using any ballast. I am wondering if I should upgrade to the wakeboard prop before I take delivery. How much top end will I loose with the wakeboard prop?

w/out the ballast you will not need the wakeboard prop, but it also helps in surfing, you will be 3-5 mph slower

Thanks for the info. I don't want the boat to be sluggish. I am coming out of a 20 foot crownline with 260 HP so anything will probably seem better than that.

Get the wakeboard prop. It will help the handling and is a must with any sort of ballast in that big of a boat. You will regret not getting it now. I know from experience.

I second, third, fourth, etc. the wakeboard prop. I am a beginner and although I didn't really need it when I bought it, I am glad that it is there. It will also improve your resale.

If you are getting a wakeboard boat...you need a wakeboard prop. Wakeboard boats are not built for speed. It is better on gas and boat resale.

Guys, what are the specifics on the wakeboard prop compared to the stock OJ stainless prop? Any change in rpm? I'm running about 1700#s of ballast at the moment and think that it's a bit sluggish out of the hole. Lastly, where can I get one and how much should I expect to pay for it? Thanks,

The wakeboard option prop for Supra is the OJ XMP EDGE 14.25 X 14 LC 1 1/8" 4-blade, part #466.

There is also a really good article in Wakeboarding magazine a couple of months ago that explained the difference in RPM's, speed, etc. for prop changes on different boats.

The 14.25 X 14 LC 1 1/8" XMP EDGE 4-blade #466 is the propeller that Skiers Choice uses as their wakeboard propeller option on both Supra and Moomba.
