I feel ya Shawn I had 3 in private school until this year $$$ There was a little indescretion with the principal so we pulled them out. Kids are expensive but well worth it and someday they may actually realize how much we do for them. Good looking family...

michael z - that's a project for sure! Looking at the before and after of the back, did you take the original roof off?

How about a pic of the back finished?

My range rover, in '95, 50k brand new. In 2008.... 60k in total repair costs.... But I love her. My list could go on FOREVER. 1969 chevy impala kingswood wagon with a 502 and 500hp, you can watch the gas gauge go down and it took 3 years to restore. Cessna 206 on floats took a loooonngg time to be done but its beautiful now. the list goes on. Heres my rover in which the insurance cost more then the car itself. Oh did I mention 6 g's thrown down in the past month? the car is worth 3 or 4... gotta love it.

putting away the boat and now the real money pit hobby kicks in. Dune Season with long travel offroad cars, UTV's and dirtbikes and rv's and trailers to carry it all. Every bit as fun as the lake and boating though. It is a nice balance.

Yeah its probably the coolest thing in the world having a dad that acts like you when the boss isnt around, I'm pretty greatful that he is what he is. Haha yeah ofcourse i love him he's 55 goin on 17 haha, what a child.

That is our House in Suffolk, England. My dad was born down the street and he lived there for 3 years i think until his family moved here. Its been in our family for quite a while. My mom and pops are there right now figuring everything out because it hasnt been touched in a looooong time. the 4th floor has floor boards everywhere and just old crap sittin around so they are working on remodeling it and making it more appealing to people who rent out cottages. I went there for the first time in 10 years this summer and it was an absolute blast. It used to be 4000 acres and now its 125 i think. The death tax is HUGE on it and My grandpa probably wont be around much longer so my parents are trying to find a way around that huge tax.
Old     (denverd1)      Join Date: May 2004 Location: Tyler       10-21-2008, 8:26 AM Reply
^ life insure grandpa. May not be insurable, just an idea. Sweet cottage. hopefully it stays in the fam.

I forgot to add that I brew my own beer too. Not too expensive, besides the ingredients. now i'm moving to a kegging setup. But its pry my favorite hobby.

Jos, that's one of my Pro Rally cars. It's registered as a Fiero although the only unmodified part is the stereo. (Why leave that in? Just to confuse people) The rest of it is hand built or modified.
It's won an awful lot of stages but it also suffered a lot of glitches. We never DNF'd for the same reason twice however.

Twitch, its called a wealth replacement, some people might use an ILIT (irrevocable life insurance trust) If grandma is still alive you may want to use a 2nd to die policy, then you only have to have one insurable life. Any advisor worth thier salt would be able to help your family out.

Sam, and for that matter all of you. yeah I know he's only 16, but you would be surprised, at both how much some 16 year olds pick up on, and how many people, even with significant wealth, screw up the whole dying thing Sounds funny but sadly its true. John D Rockafeller (sp?) had 60% plus estate depletion to the tax man! Elvis was in the 70% range. In other words, 70 cents on the Dollar went to uncle sam. Not to get all Financial on you though, rant and hijack off!
