Ok Phil, thats's fine. The thing is I realised after I said it that it was the wrong thing to say. I was actually saying to the girls in the UK that they wouldn't need much to win in Europe because the standard of riding is so poor.(I used the word awful) I only realized afterward that they probably think it is directed at them as they are part of Europe. I was travelling at the time and as soon as I arrived in Reno I went on line and apologised. Jules accepted it and everybody moved on and we started talking about other stuff. Then Helen decides she will kick it off on WW and get a worldwide apology. To what end?
Chris, don't want to kick start the whole debate again as I think it has been discussed to death. I don't think Helen was after a world wide apology just making a point on how hurtful you words could be. I know you keep saying this was discussed on a different forum site and not for here, but everyone uses their own preferred forum to discuss issues which are close to their heart, hence there are lots of these forums.
Kinda sad for the others that they made a special rule to accommodate getting a better rider on the team even though established rules were not met and persons didn't have to qualify.
No, but he won the US Nationals, so how come he never got an invite to the world Cup or was on the US Team for the Worlds. Or maybe I am wrong and he did. Somebody raised this once before. I am certainly not dogging on John. I don't really know who he is but I know he won the Nationals and got invited to the Masters because of it.Raimi won the Pro Women and, rightly, got an invite to the World Cup. Did John? As far as riding in the Nationals to get chosen for your country I have always supported that. One rule for everybody no matter how good they are. Because an increasing number of genuine UK Pro's have to travel to try and earn a living abroad they have changed the rules. Not just for Nicola. She was going anyway. As a UK rider but not part of the team (in other words your points don't count) The better the UK place the more money they get from their Federation so by having the best riders UK Wakeboard benefits in general. Nicola was going anyway. If they want her on the team she will be more than happy to pay them back for their support. It is their call in the end. Also most of the girls that compete in the UK are not British and they normally take 2 from each division. I might be wrong, but I don't think Nicola is depriving another Pro female from a place on the team and if it is a problem she (Nicola) can go as an individual. We did it in 2006. As I said it is their call.
Word. I think we're starting to get into WWA vs USA Wakeboard and Men's 1 vs Pro... yada yada, I used to be able to tell them all apart. Too many orgs and classes.
