I have narrowed it down to the JL marine and the Wetsounds. I will be putting about 80 watts to each speaker...any opinions on which to go with?

I dont think you'll go wrong with either, but my vote would be for the W/S.

I just finished this part of my stereo install yesterday, and got to hear my Wetsounds 6.5's for the first time. All I can say is, WOW. They sound absolutely amazing with enough power (I have 70 watts to each with a JL amp), and seem to be very well made. And they weigh a ton. Sound-quality wise they are very similar to the JL's (Disclaimer: I THINK they sound better but haven't had time for a side-by-side comparison, I share a storage unit with an X2 w/ JL speakers), but for $200/pair these are a no-brainer.

Wetsounds.
