What's the general feel for Obrien Wakeboards. I just purchased an Obrien Oasis 137 with Link Bindings. Its only a month old and I'm already on my second set of bindings because the others ripped down the seam on the side. Then today (Don't know what you call it) but the screw that you tighten down the bindings with stripped off its threads and by binding came lose while going across a wake. Did I get a defective board or is this common? By the way, I am a beginner, so its not like I am hammering the board with high impacts from agressive tricks. I'm just happy to jump the wake without face planting right now.
I have ridden obien boards for several years. Mine all seem to hold up pretty well. I've had my cobe, which is the same board as the oasis, for about 4 years and its still holding up good. Their bindings usually suck, though.
Word...thanks to Aaron Lepin (Obrien rider) for hooking me up with that same board. Sick board, really...fast but lots of smooth pop cause of the progressive continuous, tracks amazing. Perfect
Riding the Oasis 142 with Links all summer now and having no probs whatsoever. Also a local dealer told me o'brien are supercool as far as customer service goes. Even the slightest problem with your gear and they'll take care of it immediately or give you a replacement
I have the 04 Obrien Science and I love it. As far as the bindings I have the 04 CWB Torq. I love the setup and I haven't had any problems to date. (Knock on wood)
Brett I also have an O'brien oasis 143 with link bindings and lost both thumb screws. I going to see if I can find a contact # or e-mail address for them so I can get replacements.
