I am new to wake boarding and have become addicted to the sport although my left foot is in pain. I have been using my friends board and wouldn't think it is too small? I have a size 9.5 foot and my friend has an 11 and he has no problems. Maybe I have a higher arch? Anyway, the top of my left (leading) foot hurts and sometimes when I am walking barefoot or wiggle my toes I get a sharp tingling feeling through my first few toes and across the top of my foot. The feeling best resembles hitting your funny bone. I would like to get my own board but am nervous that I could potentially make a bad purchase I will regret. Any thoughts on what has caused this pain and the best bindings to purchase to prevent it in the future? Thanks for the help.
Go to your local shop and they can help you get fitted properly, and they should let you demo a few to see what you like. If you let us know what area you live in, we can suggest a few good board shops in your area. Excellent deduction! I am actually in a suburb of Chicago named Wheaton. The only place I can think of even remotely close that probably has a decent selection is Munson Marine, other than that it is your standard mass marketed sporting good retailer.
