We went out on the lake to hang out with friends and my 3 year old decided he wanted to "wakeboard" behind the boat (instead of being pulled by my hands onto the swim step from shore).

So here he is. Within the first minute or so he was cutting back and forth trying to cut "out of the wake" and was trying to ollie. He rode twice before the sun set and then wanted to go the next day, so we did. He is so excited to go ride again, and I couldn't be more proud. I have been waiting for this moment ever since I heard from the Dr. "it's a boy!".

I have a feeling that he will get bored of this real soon and will want a real wakeboard... time to go wakeboard shopping i guess

Awesome, I am waiting for my oldest to ask this question, but she is going to have to get in the water from the boat first.

Levi, that is a rad video. Ruby got up first try and looked super solid. I felt so bad for your son, his first pull he got yanked!! The driver was a little throttle happy, but he was able to hang on anyways. So cool. My boy will be 3 1/2 when fall comes, so I am hoping that he will be willing to try actual wakeboarding before it gets too cold for him (water temp is 80 right now

what LF board and binding set up is that for your boy? I need to start looking

Its great watching the kids but my son has backed off a little and I'm not sure why.

My son skied at 2.5, bicycled at 3.5, started to ride his bike over a jump at 4, high dives front and back flips at the local pool at early 5. All of it on his own with no push from dad at all. He actually pushed me into letting him do some of the stuff.

Now that my son is getting into his mid 5 years he is backing off from those things that he easily accomplished at younger years. Although he never has had a bad incident, I think he is starting to realize there may be a consequence to his actions.

Anyone else see this?

Thanks Johnny. Both kids actually got up their first try and both had fun so that is all I cared about. We practiced a bunch on snowboards behind the quad so this was a smooth transition, other then the big scary wake. You little guy looks ready to rip, now is the time to get him a board so he can practice with it in the living room. I got my kids a LF nemesis 108, smallest they make pretty much with the LF domain boots. It's a really great combo for kids. We have got 4 new kids up on this board this year. Watching a little kids get up for the first time is what its all about, its just such a great thing to watch.
