Hello all,

First time posting on this board.

I rode a friends 04 Balance part of last season and ripped with it. Now it looks like it was discontinued. I do not see it in the 06 lineup. Did it get a name change or is it done?

Also, is there a difference between 04 and 05?

Thanks.

I think the graphics difference is the only one for 2004 vs 2005. Necrason rides a Team now and from what I've seen, the shape is very similar to the Balance - you should give one of those a shot...

Looks like from Alan's info that they aren't exactly the same?

It must be the influence model now. I wonder if they are using the same materials and construction or if it is different in those aspects? Maybe cheaper materials?

SAME MATERIAL AS THE 2004 MODEL. 2005 THEY USED THE AERO CORE.

blened 3 stage, continuous hybrid and progressive 3 stage are all the same. Free Motion are cheaper in price because they dont put a million dollars into a team and marketing like LF.

The FM Influence is the same as the LF Balance. The post above about the XLR8 is a different board. You can still find a Balance out there. 269.99 at www.the-house.com and 299.99 at wakeside.com closeouts.-get FM or a '05LF, whichever you can find cheapest. An awesome shape!

WWW.WAKEGIANT.COM has the 2005 LF Balance for $159.99, all sizes. That is the cheapest I've seen them anywhere. I am amazed when I see places like Overton's and The House sell these for $269. They are even asking $269 for 2004 models. I picked up an '04 at the end of '04 from Performance for only $219.

The key to finding the best deals on the net is to type in what you are looking for into Yahoo Shopping. That's how I found Wake Giant.

I'm pretty sure they used the Aero Core for 2004 as well. I have an '04 and it has the Aero Core logo on it?

Is the aero core supposed to be lighter or better in some other aspect? The 04 Balance I rode was lighter than a Parks board that was on the boat.

I think I remember seeing the aero core logo on the 04 board when I saw it this year also.

I am thinking of removing the center fin the next time I ride that board. Any thoughts on that?

Still rides great. Loose but hooks up when you try. Releases the way really nice without the center fin. I am on the New Shane and its similar to the Balance feel with no center fin. They are both Fast with a ton of pop. The Shane spins a little better cause you ride a sorter board than normal with it being really wide.
