I have been checking out boats lately and plan on getting a different boat for next season and I ran across a Gekko at a dealer. Anyone have any info on them? It looks like they are mainly ski boats but they have 2 wakeboard models with ballast system and all. Any info would be great.

Their wakes suck so I would look for something else. Everyone that I knew that had one wanted to get rid of it within a year so they must not have been a very good boat. Just my 2 cents though.

I have skied behind a GTO. Great little boat if you are a skier only. The holeshot was unreal but it will only hold a couple of your friends and was terrible for wakeboarding.

they seem cheap inside when I got inside of one at a dealer. Like the bayliner of wakeboard boats

We rode behind a Bazooka last weekend, see the link: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/1/517254.html?1194319071

No one complained about that wake. I think that Gekko might be, let's not say cheap, how about low cost or entry level. The Bazooka hull is similar to the Centurion Wave. Gekko bought the molds from Centurion. I believe that they have since modified the hull. The Wave was the first wakeboard boat hull designed specifically for wake sports.

I like the layout of the Bazooka. The only down side is on cold days there no escaping the wind. Not everyone is a doctor, lawyer, big building contractor, or Indian chief, and so not everyone can buy a top three boat. I’d leave a little room and respect for other brands and entry level boats.

Demo the boat then decide. Ohhh, and my boat is for sale:-)
