My 2005 mobius xlv has been over heating on me randomly. Just out of the blue the gauge would peg, then I would turn it off let it sit for 10 minutes and start it back up and down the gauge would go. I replaced the impeller and still same thing. So today I took out the thermostat and it never happen the rest of the day.

I want to put in a little colder thermostat because I run my boat at powell and its been vapor locking on me as well. I think I have that problem solved but... can I go to one that like 10 degrees cooler? If so does anyone have a part number for one from napa?

Thanks,

Marty

i would get a marine thermostat. cause there stainless steel. wont rust. if you get one from napa it will be steel and will rust. just go to a boat shop. they can get you a 140 or a 160

rodney,

thanks and good to know they are stainless. I didn't think they would let me put one in a bit cooler but will go and get one.
