Last I heard the number of boats manufactured in 2006 are as follows: my numbers are not exact, but rounded.

Malibu- 3600
Mastercraft- 3300
Supra- 3000
Nautique- 1600

I'm suprised Moomba is not listed, I think they out sold Nautique?

Supra and moomba are counted as one . They are both made by skiers choice

Probably more Bayliners built than all 4 of the other brands combined.......proves nothing.

each year there is a news article detailing how many of each boat is sold. The past few years has looked exactly how Kenneth Land listed above.

if you search the news section of this site i'm sure you could find the article that ranks them...

I can't believe there are that many Mastercrafts. I hardly see them at all.

Chris--just depends on your local dealerships. Having a good local dealership will greatly affect what boats you see.

Well, Dave, I think it does prove which manufacturer has sold the most boats, which is what was asked.

yea...I just started talking to this guy at work about it and we got curious to know the real numbers, so of course after my brief search, I knew the knowledge on this board would come through.

Dave...or anyone else: any accurate sales numbers?

thanks....

Actually, the question was just for sales figures overall, not who has sold the most boats.

My mistake,

yea...but I'm actually looking for who sold the most boats.

p.s. not interested in bayliner, sea ray, and the like....

good advice scott a....I just found the 2006 Q3 market share % table in the news section....close enough.

thanks...

fyi: that report did not combine moomba and supra into one skier's choice. however, if it had, skier's choice would be #3, ahead of nautique.

1. malibu
2. mastercraft
3. nautique
4. moomba

Man that is a shocker, I figured that the cheaper boats would be # 1

It really is just where the dealers are. In Stockton on the Delta you see a lot of Centurions, Calabrias, And Correct Crafts simply because that is what the dealers in that area sell.

I have a question that doesn't pertain to this thread but how do you pronounce Tige ? I've heard it 3 different ways
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       07-12-2007, 2:09 PM Reply
ive heard that roughly 12,000 inboard boats are sold each year and that is all the manufactures together, pretty crazy since bayliner probably sells 12,000 of one model!

That is what you get with quality built boats instead of quantity built boats!

That is like comparing sales of a Chevy Cobalt to a Porsche 997.....

Not really the same.....

Now if you compared sales from Cobalt or Chris Craft to Malibu or Mastercraft... your a little closer to a "apples to apples" comparison.

I believe Tige is pronounced like the word Tiger if you dropped the r. So "Tie-g-eh"
