I've noticed a few unique schools of thought with aerials. Not the shuv, but boosting air like above. One, which is probably the most common is about speed. Start at the back of the pocket, drive the board forward and up off the lip. At the very top of the lip, you'll want to ollie, like with a skateboard. IMO, the best aerial artist is Josh Sleigh. http://www.mobgroup.tv/videos/wakesurfing.html There are a bunch of vid's featuring Josh, at the URL above. Watch how he powers up through the lip and in particular, how he pulls his legs up.

Nick, is that your Walzer? If so, I like the way that traction came out.

Damn Ryan, not sure I've ever been so OK with a lack of PFD's. Nice pics. Looks like you got a couple different boards goin'. Watcha got there? Jeff, yep. Petty sweet eh? I'm still getting used to it. First day out it felt like an oil slick. I took some some 120 grit paper to it to knock some of the new off and it's great now. You gotta hand it to the big 3, they've got some nice traction pads. That one is off a CWB Tsunami. Well, not "off", but "for".

yeah um we forgot our lifejackets that day........ One is the obrien alias, not bad but heavy. The small one is a soft top skim that my bro picked up in cali, it is super light. He just needs to drill a fin in there. I just got a Meyer 57' skim, it is sick! Fastest board I have been on. Will get some pics of it in action.

It really does look nice, did it lay right up or did you have to do some trimming? How did you acquire it? Did you run across an old 'Tsu?

Jeff, I just slapped it right on there, no trimming. The boys at Boarders Paradise got there hands on it and just gave it to me on one condition, I let them ride it. I told them that was cool and they could check it out when the put that surf demo day together. Actually those guys are welcome to come out anytime and they know that. It pays to have a good relationship with your local shop.

Yeah the skim that Skiin' Ian is the one I was looking at. I've never heard of Meyer, but them in the middle of the desert, we don't hear much at all. Get some pics. Oh yeah, please.

http://www.shorelinesurf.com/surf-tech-skimboards.htm They are super light and cheap. Not sure about drilling a fin thru the epoxy though.

I've been getting the tinny trick Boardz Free Style out, slowing the boat down to 9 mph and surfing. At first the wake didn't develop very well at slower speeds 8.5 to 9 mph. We hit the trim tab and set it at 25% and the wake perked up pretty nice. Note we add 100% trim for the goofy side and normally no trim for the regular side.
