Is this a fluke or do I need to check something.
I blew 3 of the 4 6x9's bass caps (kickers)in my tower box. They are 2 years old, were not distorting at all and all of a sudden a loud POP with the cap becoming exposed, then a few mins later another then another. Did not have alot of bass(atleast I thought) going through them so what gives and what can I check?

How much power are you sending to them? I toasted 3 of the tweeters in my polk momo 6X9's and will be sending them back, hopefully for a warranty exchange. Ive got an 800 watt rms amp with the gains turned up only about 6/10th's

Blowing a cap is most likely due to too much power going thru them. Get caps rated for more watts. Partsexpress.com can help you out.

I've always overpowered my mid-high speakers. High volume with low voltage is the easiest way to destroy a speaker, especially with a low quality amp.
