Hey All, Does anyone have the Infinity 6100M Speaker and Amp System? I am looking for just a basic tower setup, I don't need to blast music for the entire lake and can't mortgage my house for a set of NVS's. Is this system any good? Has anyone used it? Thanks!

I've seen those on ebay a lot lately and I've been wondering about 'em. Seem pretty inexpensive.

they're pretty good, but no fusion or titans. the amp gives it enough power to hear it pretty clearly while riding. the microphone is the coolest part though.

How much are they on E-bay? The reason I ask is because I can get them through work for About $450 for the above set-up, and $250 for just the speakers. (Message edited by joesell on September 14, 2005)

Joe, where do you work that you can get them that cheap? That's a few hundred bones cheaper than I've ever seen them.

In fact, it's $200 cheaper and then there's another $45 for shipping from eBay.

I just bought a set off ebay today. It was used for 3 mo. The guy tweeked his back boarding and is going under the knife and out of action for quite a while. Sold his board, rope/handle, and i bought the near new infinity set up with all paperwork, wires, amp, mic, speakers and rotating mounts...$450. I had ACL surgery 3 1/2 mo ago and I'm not ready to quit yet. I think $450 is a great buy, my buddy has this same system on his tower and he paid $850 a couple months ago. Speakers are very waterproof, he swamped his boat speakers underwater for an hour or so and they still sound like new.

I work at UPS. We get discounts on lots of different stuff. I looked again when I was at work today. I was wrong about the $250 for the one pod. It's really $275. The above system is still $450. I don't know about shipping charges though. I can buy up to $3000 dollars worth of stuff per year, so if anyone wants anything from the Harmon web site let me know. I'm sure we can work something out. I would get a set myself, but I already have some tower speakers.

Man, that seems like quite the deal. Still the question remains: Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm torn between these and the bazooka tubbies that are on ebay. I'm not expecting to hear the tunes while I'm riding at 75', but more for surfing and hanging than anything.

I have the speakers and an Infinity amp, but not the one that's packaged with the speakers. I like the speakers a lot. They sound great, and you can hear them clearly behind the boat. A guy here on WW rode on my boat and then went out and bought a pair.

Jeff would there be any reason I couldn't mount them on top of the tower? I don't have enough bimini room to hang them beneath.

The mounts are pretty versatile, and I don't see any reason why you couldn't mount them with the speakers above the tower. However, the clamps don't fit tightly around the entire circumferance of the tower tube, so you might have to use the setscrews that are in the mounts in order to keep the speakers from rotating downward. This will leave one or two small setscrew marks on the tower on each side.
