The mats on my trailer are coming off the fenders, which is making the trailer very slippery when stepping into the boat. What is a cheap rubber or some other substance that can be put on the trailer for traction, and look halfway decent at a cheap price?

Well cheap is Traction tape that you buy at a hardware store. But the best thing is Gator grip looks great and you wont slip. We are getting ready to order it for the gunals(sp) on our boat because it is so slippery when putting boards in and out of the racks. But I am noty sure it falls under the cheap catagory.

Not sure of the cost but a piece of polished aluminum diamond plate that is riveted to the fender (pretty common) could be relatively easy and I think looks good. Certainly durable.
The cheapest though is probably the adhesive backed "Non SKid" tape. Better qualities can be had at Marine supply stores like West Marine or?

How about the roll on bedliner that you can buy at auto parts stores. If you took care to apply it properly I bet it would look good and last a long time.

Diamond plate looks good, but very expensive. Also, I can't find anyone close that sells it. Truck mat sounds like a good idea.

go to your local skate board shop and get some grip tape or order it from a board mag.

You want cheap, go get a can of spray paint, put on heavy and throw sand on it. There you go, cheap cheap cheap.
