How much would the rear two tanks weigh full. And if you added a bag to the center ski locker would I be able to set it up using the current empty fill system. I am looking at an up grade and any info. on how much ballast I'll need to make a good wake.

Greg, as a matter of fact I do.

Give me some info on it - engine hours, interior condition, extras and most importantly - price.

David, There is a picture of it in my profile. It is an '82 Ski Nautique 2001. The boat was completely restored in the year 2001. At that time it received a new engine (PCM Ford 351, currently 220 hrs, well taken care of with all service records by dealer), new floor, new carpet, new upholstery, new electric. I then added on Perfect Pass Cruise, custom tower with two board racks and hard top bimini, depth finder, four blade prop, custom cover to fit tower, and restored the trailer. It also has two Pioneer speakers that are in new shape and custom installed, but I got the CD palyer pretty wet in a storm last year and it does not work right now. I will be asking $12,000. Fresh water garage kept. If you want more pictures I will be visiting it this weekend.

Dang, you put some work into it. Sounds expensive, but with what you have put into it probably a fair asking price.
I'll mention it to the guy.

I would agree it is more then most 2001 models, but if you look at the engine and how well it is set up to be a great wake board baot I think I can get that price. If I asked for what I put into it the price would be close to 17k, but we all know for that there are newer choses.

Tim, I will keep in at Sante Fe. I'll probably keep it on the trailer because the folks bought a pontoon (Party Barge) do my lift has been confiscated. You should look for a job in Orange Park or commute from G-ville to Black Creek. You can found a house on Black Creek for under 300k. I still think that is the best place to ride in North Florida. Don't worry it is fresh water.

Black Creek is the best place to ride. Weekdays are desolate, but the summers are insane, you could even get ran over. If you ride before 10am on Sat and Sun no one is around. But wallys are everywhere after that.

Good Luck Greg, Check out Billy Nichols at www.skiboatsolutions.com to demo the VLX.

There is a house on Black Creek right now with a lift for $250K.

I email you guys this summer when I am visiting to get a pull.

I'm back in California for now. I hope to have my new boat back on Black Creek within a year or two.

greg, i have been to black creek, in nov. it was nice but there still were compensator boats out in nov. I prefer alto. also, this property i am looking at is on a completely private lake with clear water. can't really beat that. 6 boats on the lake and about 5 of them are ski boats.

Tim, Sounds good. Can't wait to hera more about.

Slipknot, I agree with you on Black Creek, I won't go on a weekend unless it is early morning. But on a weekday it does not get any better in my opinion.

Greg what is your weight setup in your current Nautique? People have different ideas of what a good wake is.
Old    lucky            01-30-2004, 9:43 AM Reply
Babelmooch, Good Point. I usually have about 1500 lbs. Fat Seat wraped around the engine box and 500 lbs in the front. If the wake is that good I will be really be happy. I am upgrading for the wake, but also for the room.

Stock Team Edition ballast plus 500 in front and 80-100 in front of the rear tanks will give you a larger and cleaner wake than your current boat. You can add more of course if you desire.

Stock ballast (center tank/rear flat tanks) with an extra 320lbs up front, and 240lbs on each side tank = RIDICULOUS BIG

Stock Ballast with extra 500lbs up front and 440lbs on top of each side tank = STUPID BIG

We usually ride DOUBLE SECRET RIDICULOULOUS STUPID BIG. 75'-80' rope works best @ 23-24 mph.

Jeff did you switch to a different prop for when you ride DOUBLE SECRET REDICULOUS STUPID BIG?
Old     (socalwakepunk)      Join Date: Dec 2002       01-31-2004, 12:21 PM Reply
I've already gone 2" down in pitch (15.5"). Works great.

Did it affect the wake at all? Gramps put one on his boat (not sure on the size) and it messed up the wake.
Old     (socalwakepunk)      Join Date: Dec 2002       01-31-2004, 1:15 PM Reply
Not sure. I had that prop put on the boat on delivery. Spare prop is the same size. Hey, why don't you come on up and give it a test ride?
