Where can I find a cheap waterproof casing for my camcorder. I want to get some shots whiile in an innertube, so it doesnt have to be one that can withstand pressure. Any suggestions?

waterproof + camera != (does not equal) cheap...

I was looking to do the same thing with my Sony PC101 and this is the cheapest thing I could find.

They make bags for other cameras as well, here's a listing including hard cases (a huge jump in price from the bag style to hard case):

Or you can make your own: http://www.wakeworld.com/articles/2003/housing.asp

Try aquapac. It's a UK product, cheaper than EWA. Shipping is cheap, too.

our dealer just got some in, they are $25 and are garanteed to keep the camera dry at sruface level. They look pretty cool, they have a magnet to close it and then 6 latches to hold it shut. Pretty good design. I haven't got to use it yet. I will try and find out the manufacture for you guy.

ok, the company is called Kwik Tek and they are in Denver. Just got that off the box, no website or anything else. The item is called the DryPak and it is a $25 version of the one above.

Only problem with those are you are filming through a soft plastic, not a glass lense. It makes a big differance in the video quality and the ability for the water to bead or sheet off the housing. Look at the vids on their website to see for yourself. You cant use a product like rainx on it either to help with the sheeting action of the water droplets. Soft plastic scratches really easy too. I got one last year and I was not satisfied at all with the quality of the videos and returned it. the camcorder lense has to remain flush with the housing or the video and the focus gets all blurrd and sometimes distorted. Keeping it flush is hard to do being that the camcorder is not attached to the housing and can move around in the bag. Not trying to tell you they stink or anything, just letting you know what to expect. I had High hopes and was dissapointed with the results.

Andrew - are you referring to the Kwik Tek or aquapac cases?

The ewa-Marine case has a front port made of neutral, high quality optical glass."

That probably explains why they cost a considerable amount more?

Sort of a side, but related topic when using these bags for wakeboarding. (http://www.ewa-marine.de/English/e-tips.htm#move)

Me and a buddy both sent emails to Epic Cam and neither one got an answer. They don't seem to be big on customer service.

The one I tried out was an aquapac.

I have an EWA MARINE for my GL1. It's cool. There are way better housings on the market. I just did not want to pay over $1000.00 for the housing.

I did not know about the epicam. The only difference there is that it can go down to 20' and the EWA can go 30'

I sent emails to epiccam, and got a reply after a while. They speed up once you start dealing with them...
