138 Vs 142???

Hi i have just spent the weekend demoing the Ronix mana i really like the board! It was a 138.... the guys at the shop suggested i got for the 142 as i am around 90kgs. The 138 Mana felt really good sat alot higher in the water than my 138 murray. My question is should i go with the advice of the shop and go 142 even though i liked the 138? Would the ride be much different? Thanks Chris

I ride the 142 and I am 170 lbs, you'll will have more speed, softer landings, and more pop from the 142, but you will lose a little control until you get used to the extra length. The positives of a bigger board out weigh the negatives. In my opinion.

The board specs for the ronix mana size 142 says it is for riders 165 lbs and up

the 138 says for riders UP TO 180 lbs

I would go with the 142 as well!

how different will the board feel overall? on edge will it be looser or will it ride the same just bigger?

The Mana is super tight no matter what, I would assume the fins would be a little longer but I don't know for sure

Has any one experienced changing a board to a bigger one? Any board? Does it feel similar? apart from teh obvious of more stable cause of more surface area what else changes?

I went up from a 133 covin to a 137 DHV1 and the step up at first the board felt like a freakin' boat but now it doesn't feel any different than the 133 except for the smoother landings and bigger pop. So i would say go bigger.

Thanks tom yeah that was what i thought would happen a bit of increased pop a little faster and smother landings just a case of getting use to the bigger size.

I went from 138 to 142 Watson, seems like more pop, softer landings

Yeah i have gone with the 142 will be heading out on the water either next weekend or the one after to give it a run
