Turns out anchor chains and props don't mix well.

I need a new prop. My service guy says the only #'s I need are a 14 1/4 x 14, but all the props I see on-line have a "spline" or a "bore" #? Do I need to know those #'s?

Also, what's a good prop brand for the money and a good web site to shop on? I'm an intermediate boarder.

you need a 1-1/8 bore ( shaft)

I own a 06 LSV. I replaced the stock prop with an Acme 13.5 x 16. We load the boat with about 2100lbs of ballast and with 6 people in the boat it pulls good. More weight than that and it needs to pitch down again. 1-1/8 bore is correct. The rpm is about 3200 at 24mph.

You will need to let them know if your boat is left turn or right turn as well.

Assuming a Moomba V-drive with a 1.125 (1 1/8" bore), most people are buying the Acme 1235 from me.
My site is www.boarditup.com. If you have a local pro shop owner that sells Acme, support him. If not, I would like to sell you a prop.

to save money, repair yoru old one and haev them pitcvh it down 2, it will perform similar to the 14.25 x 14. I have a repitched stock prop as a spare. I was surprised at the performance.

Contact Bill Weeks at ACME and ask him directly. Tell him what you want your boat to do. Best way to go.

I called ACME and talk to Bill a few weeks back when I was looking for a new prop.

I ended up going with a 1235 (14.5x14) and this was the best purchase ever. I own a Session 22SI with 2000lb of ballast and it now gets to a plane no problems... and I'm also saving +-15% in gas now.

Bill is great and will help find the right prop for your boat.

ACME (14.5 x 14) is the best choice you can make.
