no it was on cable off a kicker! 1080 is still a 1080 no matter wat its done off

i disagree. i guess i'm just a purist, but to me WAKEboarding involves a wake. or two wakes converging together. i am pretty sure the popular opinion is that 1080's off kickers will never be compared to a 1080 off the wake/d-up. not to take away from this feat, but its a little misleading...

That's awesome good for him . . . . . "1080 is still a 1080 no matter what its done off" that is very true but a 1080 behind a boat is a little different

Behind a wake would be way harder. Not to dog this guy or anything. He is still an incredible rider.

Alex, It's definitely badass and something to be super stoked about but when I originally read your post I was thinking holy $h|t 3 years of Wakeboarding and already hit a 10 I just assumed it was behind a boat which would be pretty amazing. Landing a 10 off a kicker is pretty cool just not near as cool as behind a boat

Not the same, I have seen videos where the person starts spinning at the bottom of the kicker.

Nick Davies landed one in the UK a while back and the 1st 180 is just as he is leaving the kicker. You don't want to be putting it down but is it really a 1080??( I am not talking about Gregs because I haven't seen it) That's why the purists only count the ones off the wake.

Jimmy Lariche Landed one off a kicker at ski rixen. They're sick but it doesn't put you in the 1080 club.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7L4xzljy1A

Any 1080 is impressive, but it is less impressive off a man made obstacle IMO.

Impressive, but your not in the 1080 club unless it's off the wake.

1080 off a kicker on a cable way different than behind the boat. Props to him for hitting it, but you have to put an asterisk by it and just note that it wasn't off the wake.

Can we beat this dead horse a little more by re-wording what everyone else said? Thanks for sharing Alex

I love beating dead horses. There was an english guy who did a "10" off the kicker, but he pretty much did the first 3 on the kicker then continued to rotate into the air, Jimmy LaRiche also did a "10" off the kicker. deffinately not the same thing. Edit: didn't realize that Jimmy's 10 had already been mentioned, sorry. (Message edited by hawk7 on July 22, 2008)

Not even a 10. He had already 180d before he left the ramp. Behind the boat you must pop first then spin.
