So I have 2500 pounds worth of ballast project sitting in my room waiting to be installed this spring. Just curious what props you guys are running with a lot of weight. Here's a pic of the project

I personally run this prop. The acme 536 13.50 x 16.00 VR 4B 1.125 .105 PROP

I tried the 856 and didn't like it at all.

With the 536 I am running around 2100-2200lbs plus 3-4 people. It does pretty good. Rpm around 32-3300 @ 24mph.

yea, definitely check out ACME. Ask them they're opinion, they'll help you out. And by them, I mean the people who work for ACME. Oh, and I think u can get a discount on either ccfan or the2001, can't remember which.

2500lbs?

I'd suggest investing in knee braces and advil my friend.

I ran mine at 2000lbs for a bit and decided it was ridiculously vert. I reduced the weight down to 1600lbs now and it's perfect.

I run about 2500 in my 95, I use the 856 and LOVE it. We are also at elevation though so you may be able to get away with the 536. I think the RPMs are around 3500 at 24 mph.

Acme also has a few new props as well. My buddy is running one on his 210, although I don't remember the model # off hand(something like the 1235). You can call Acme and they'll help out. Also check out Planetnautique.com, there is a group buy code for Delta Propeller, I think it's a 10% discount.

Have fun, the 210 with that much weight is a monster.

We have a 95' and run a min. of 1600 + people
max - 2200 + people and the 856 is amazing.

the other day we had 1500 is ballast and 11 people and still got out of the water faster than the stock prop w/ like 900 lbs.... just hope you don't want to go over 33 mph

I'm with cliff too... more than 1500/1600 lbs doesn't seem to make it much bigger, just works the boat harder

Thanks for the advise about the weighting guys. I'll be sure to mess around with it this summer. And I'd be perfectly happy to have a top speed of 25mph

J: you dont want so little top end speed. If you had only 25mph top, it would mean that your pushing the throttle at least 80% while riding at 22mpph, that being said you will have a terrific gas consumption and you will probably cut engine life in a half for running at so high RPM.

My advise is to try different weight setups, choose the one you like the most and then go for the prop that gives you the best holeshot with that weight while keeping the RPMs at ease.

The 25mph comment was just a joke

I have 1500# in my 97 SS and everybody says the weight and wake are huge at 23-24 mph. Not sure which prop it is, but pulls out fine. Had seven people in the boat and wake was insane.

I have the 856 on my boat. Depending on who is driving it will pull your arms out. However, when a good driver is behind the wheel it's the perfect prop.

When I first put it on, I thought i was spinning 3500rpm's while pulling at speed. Then I hooked up my perfect pass and realized the tachometer was way off. The RPM's are within reason. However, I have to switch in my 3 blade if I want to pull a slalom skier.

is winter over yet?

I have a '97 Super Sport just like you that I turned into a Super Air (check profile). I installed a ballast system in mine and I run about 1900 lbs. + people. I have the Acme 644 and it works pretty well. It gets out of the hole fine and you can still cruise at a decent speed without the RPM's getting too high.
