What's with the drop down tower mount mirror? When did that become a thing?
Old     (taylorfredrickson)      Join Date: Aug 2013       08-16-2013, 5:35 PM Reply
Its better than mounting the mirror on the window because I doesnt come loose when the boat hots rolls or in rough water and it doesn't block the drivers view

Only pic I have when we sacked it out last week. Factory with plug n play (2,275lbs), then (2) 85lbs and (2) 350lbs and a 750lb (bimini blocked it) in front. Had to rearrange some weight around and drain a little. Will have to get a water perspective view pic when we slam it out again. Wedge was down when we started.

Greg, DTB, and Mase, you guys are doing it right!! Loving those slammed A22's. The A22 is a lot like the 04-11 xstar in that the stock wake is nothing to write home about, but once you get to around 3000 lbs of water/lead, then you get a pro-class wake... big, rampy, firm, clean. And just like the xstar, it takes whatever weight you throw at it and gives you amazing wakes in return. As long as your motor/prop combo can get it up, the boat will take it. With every 100 lbs you add over that 3000, you get a noticeably bigger better wake....

I got to get in on this, I will take pictures tuesday.

Happy riding.

That wake above looks abnormally huge.
Old     (DatTexasBoy)      Join Date: Aug 2012       08-25-2013, 1:57 PM Reply
Johnny,

I'm not running wedge either and we loved it. The more you put up front seems the wake will boot you even higher. Just by adding that 600 up front it took it too a whole notha level.
Old     (johnny_defacto)      Join Date: Sep 2006       08-25-2013, 2:41 PM Reply
I agree with you DTB... the wedge is great and people seem to love it, but I love how the A22 responds to weight without the wedge, floor weight, bow weight... it loves it, eats it up, and spits out awesomeness.

I think the reason my wake looks so crazy big is the wedge a lot of ppl run 1100s but it shortens up the ramp and is harder with wedge which translates to better pictures. I don't think it gets any bigger just changes the shape... My master craft die hard buddy was raving about how cool it was to have 2 completely different wakes. I like with and without the wedge for diff tricks too. When I work on new load and release tricks I usually pull it up and normally ride with it down because I came from an old school 210 and like the snap. Here is Bryan Hutton getting booted on it on a back 7 with wedge before I had the 1100s and had 750s

Is that a girl riding? Not to be sexist but I think if I towed my wife @ 23.6mph with full ballast she would punch me straight in the face once she got back on the boat.

Haha I knew that reply would come. She has been riding for years and I asked her if she wanted any weight. Her reply was give me everything it's got! So I did lol. No pun intended ha. I ride with a couple girls who do inverts and love the biggest wake you can throw at them.

Gotta admit I am not much of a surf enthusiast myself. I surf occasionally when I am all broken and trying to heal which seems to be more and more these days. However the goofy wake with ragboy, and that yellow Avy's wake are insane. Those are surf wakes.

Heres my 12 VLX. Stock full with 1500 plug and play in the rears, 900ish in a bow sack and a little bit of wedge. As someone said earlier I thing the wedge does make it look bigger than it is in pictures.

What engine/prop? How did you get on plane with all of that rear weight+wedge?
Old     (Reez)      Join Date: Mar 2010       09-13-2013, 7:53 AM Reply
I have the stock engine and just upgrade to the Acme 2315 or 2419. Both are similar from what I heard. I couldn't plane out with and wedge and plug and play before I put the new prop on. Planes out quickly with the autowedge and weight upfront. Only problem I really have is if I don't have enough weight up front it starts to bounce. Prop made a major impact
