Has anyone towed with the new Colorado 2.8l diesel? I sure like the idea of a tow vehicle that fits easily in the garage (without folding mirrors) and gets 30 mpg.

Then upgraded the boat:
Finally upgraded the truck.

Well, I have not towed yet, but I got myself the Diesel Colorado. It drives great, has plenty of power and lots of bells and whistles!

Please report back on towing boat.
Also, any comments on rear seat space? Really liking this vehicle just nervous that when we decide to have children that car seats won't fit.

I will certainly report back on towing. On rear seat space, it is definitely better than any 1/2 ton crew cab. My son is 5' 11" and says it is very comfortable for him. There should be no problem at all with car seats in the rear.

Used my jeep all last year, short distance to the ramp. Pulls fine, just have to take it easy. Got a dock and lift this year.

Finally got the boat out for a pull. The truck pulls great.
Drives fine, but droops a bit. May look at installing some load leveling airbags.

I have not put it on a scale, but others with the same boat are about 5600 lbs.

My buddy pulls with his Dakota all the time ..when its running good I pulls his boat very well . WHEN its running good ..im not a dakota fan and neither is he anymore .
I tried to talk him into a Tacoma and he went with the Dakota and has regretted it since day one.

Surface on the ramps under water are so slippery that when they go enough deep into the water the vehicles lost the grip (and get ability a little float). All other work doing gravity - they slide into lake even with parking brakes. See at vid - many of them pull out with blocked rear wheels.

I used to tow my Malibu skier with a Crown Vic when I was in college. It looked weird, but that boat was tiny and the grandma car had a 5.0. I just upgraded the shocks.
I have a 4x4 1500 and just ordered a 25LSV. As much as I hate to spend it, It might be diesel time.
