How many plugs???

How many plugs are there on a 5.7L Merc. I found and drained 5 but I thought there were 6, and couldn't fingd the last one.

which ones did you get?

Looking at the motor from the front, I got the 3 on the right, and 2 on the left.....

Both plugs under the exhaust manifold, the 2 plugs on the hoses on the right (looking at the front of the motor) and number 5 on the left toward the front.

Sorry folks...I feel like an idiot trying to describe them, I know my descriptions are not real clear. It was getting dark and I'm going to look again tomorrow morning.

Are there 3 on each side, just that info would help so at least I know which side to look at.

it might depend on which motor you have but i think there is also one right on top behind the carb sorta by the thermo housing, its been a couple months...

How about the one coming off the big hose from the thermostat housing? The one on the bottom on the fuel cooler line?

What the?!?!? Mine only has 3 (optional 4th) blue plugs on my 2002 5.7. 2 on the impeller housing, one on the starboard side lower front, and 4th optional on the thermostat housing. I have none on the manifolds or anything.... My manual just says to remove the first 3 if the boat is out of the water.

In 2002 Merc change the cooling system, pre 2002 has five and 2002 and up has four.

I took mine in to get winterized and I got back six plugs. I have the 5.7L Merc. Sorry, couldnt tell your more since I did not do it myself.
