I need new bindings. I am thinking about picking up a pair of 08 Ronix One's to put on my 07 Transcend Platty. Anyone have any opinons on this? I have tried on the One's and loved how they felt. They seem to have the flex I like, but figured I would see if anyone has any opinions on this setup. Anyone?

I ride the newer transcend, its foam so its not a platty, but when it comes to bindings, you want your foot as comfortable as possible. I would say try the CWB answers, the 08's have more flex than the 09's...but what i'd suggest mostly is wait a month or two until all 2010 stuff gets released. Its really late in the season to buy stuff if yours aint broke. So i'd say stick out a month or two longer. Cause there are some very SWEET bindings coming out from all companies, but most of all, CWB. They have 4 brand new closed toe bindings coming out which is a great selection to choose from! So i'd say just wait man, there's a lot of new technology comin out for 2010 bindings. Check out the buyers guide on this site, theres a couple companies who've released the new stuff. The closed toe CWB bindings for 2010 are: AA, Marius, Faction, and Answer. CHECK EM!

I would wait like Codi says. If you want light and comfortable, and CT, wait for the dub-10 Factions. All of the new cdub boots are ultra light. I checked out the new Ones in Reno. I dont see how people ride those things. lol. They're big, stiff, and clunky like a snowboard boot. It's all preference, definitely not mine though.

Codi, I hear you on only buying stuff right now if your stuff is broke. My old bindings are broke! I find waiting for the new stuff (and paying more for it because it just came out) to be a tempting trap that often isn't worth it. Is the '10 technology really going to be a big leap? There is no doubt the technology gets better over the years, but I think, for the most part (undoubtedly with exceptions), it doesn't change that much from year to year.

in general I agree. This year though, all of the popular cdub boots are redesigned. If you buy at a boat show in January, you should find some savings.

Jason, I have that exact setup and love it. Only thing I don't like about the One's is no drain holes in the bottom. They will hold a ton of water. Like J-Rod said thought, all personal preference.

I second j-rod. There's only a few '09 and prior boots that have a great reputation of being comfortable boots. So picking some good bindings shouldnt be too tough if your lookin at 09 or prior. T=But there is gonna be a pretty big leap in technology of bindings from 09 to 2010. I know that for CWB, the footbed is now influenced by orthotics specialists which actually does make a huge difference in the comfort of your foot. Also, the new bindings coming out are UNBELIEVABLY light! The lighter the bindings you can get, the better! The new heel lock system will be a breakthrough in binding technology, and with the Marius boots, a system was designed where when you tighten the lower laces, a strap also tightens and creates a better hold for your heel. The strap is surprisingly comfortable though, ive tried them on. You can do what u want jason, but if it were me, id wait....good luck

Yeah, listen to Codi and stay away from the Ones. They're so painful, I can only keep them on for like 10 seconds and you know us old peeps, we're all about the comfort.

lol not at all! I just do my homework/research before I buy anything! Especially when it comes to me buying wakeboard or snowboard gear. I like to know everything about my equipment. I you cant ever know too much about the things you own! I dont buy for popularity or fashion, i buy sh** that'll give me what i want. Back when i rode LF products, i was all about them and knew a lot about their products. But after switching to CWB for various reasons, I try to learn everything i can about what they have to offer. A lot of people dont look as hard into the products they're buying as they can, which is why many people end up riding a couple different products before finding the right swag....i like to skip a few steps and do it right the first time :P
