Are you allowed to build your own sliders in any of the Arizona lakes?

I would have to say "no", but not sure. I would say it's a liability issue for the State. Unless maybe it was built for a controlled event like the AWA maybe.

I know that a couple of summers ago when they were filming Allmost Famous, my son and jimmy and a couple others built a couple and nobody said anything. I heard as long as you take them on shore at night it's ok. But then again my son was only 15 so you can take that for what it's worth.

Most of the lakes in Arizona are located within the Tonto National Forest with the exception of Lake Pleasant, Firebird and the half a dozen private community lakes. With this in mind you can build sliders in the Tonto National Forest WITH A PERMIT! Last year the permit at Bartlett was $10. You had give the location and time that the slider would be in use, it has to be temporary. The same applies for a slalom course. You can get the permits at the marina at Bartlett.

Hope this helps...

Thank You. So does it have to be one that floats or can it be attached to the bottom of the lake as long as you take it down when your done?

Not sure, sorry. I assume it would have to be one that floats. I know a couple of guys on here, MGilbert or maybe Amestoy, can't remember, has done this several times out at Bartlett.

It would also be wise to verify this all with either Tonto or the barlett marina...
