I am looking for a new prop for my X15SS with the LY6 engine. The current prop I believe is a 14.25X14.75. It usually pulls very hard but we have started loading up the ballast lately and found it struggles to get out of hole.

Eric at OJ props recommended the 14.75X15.5LC Splined 4-blade or 14.25X14.5

Bill at Acme recommended the 1285 prop (14.5X14.25VL4B spline 0.105)

Does anyone have any experience with either of these props?

Those props look very similar in pitch and diameter to what you already have. Am I missing something?

I just got a new prop from acme and they recommended a 3.25 pitch reduction, which looks like a lot bigger drop than you are getting.

How much extra weight are you running, thats going to make a little difference in what you are going to need to re prop to.

If you are running stock plus 1500 or so I'd run a 14.25x14 OJ.

My buddy runs an X-Star with stock plus 3000+ we propped his with an Acme 1625 which is a 14.5x13.73

We are running it normally with stock plus 1500-2000 with 4-6 people on the boat. Last weekend we had stock plus ~3000 and that sucker did not want to plane out.

Eric at OJ will let me try out both of his recommendations but I was hoping somebody on the site had already gone throught this experiment.

Rick - As I said in my e-mail, we also have our 14.75 X 13 that is for boats that are heavily loaded.
