Have my eye on this 400 hr entry level beauty at a local boat consignment place. Perfect Condition, just don't know much about the Brendella Line. How does it compare to Supreme, Nautique, Supra, Moomba.. (seems like I'm forgetting someone...) ohh yeah, and Mastercraft.

Closed bow, I'll try to get some pics, it's pretty much a classic ski boat, no tower, no bags. I understand that there is a (similar boat) California Skier in the Wakeworld classifieds. Wow that looks like a clean boat!

The talk is that the boat has a small beam, so sack it down and look out. But it still has a flat bottom, not bad as a moomba in the same year.

Good ski boat. Not so good wakeboard boat. The wake is hard to build. This opinon is from riding behind a '93 19ft. closed bow Ski Brendella.

I own a 91 Shortline Comp (closed bow) with about 600 hours. Turns quick, handles great, very small wake with little rooster in middle but doesnt effect skiing at all. It has side spray that will hit you going into the wind but only if you are hanging behind the boat. It has awesome wake for water skiing but hard to get sizable wake for boarding without adding lots of ballast. I'm kind of beginner so not a big issue yet and I still like to ski bouys. Brendella is located in Merced, CA and fairly popular boat in Valley area at the time. Story is that Mike Brendell disagreed with direction of the company so he left and formed MB Sports. Brendella shortly went bankrupt and reemerged in same facility, etc as Calabria. Good Luck.

I'm a weekend warrior, my friends and I are decend skiiers, tho we don't get our shoulders wet... This is probably much more boat than I will ever need. I'm just lookin to go out and have a good time (and not have to use my parents '87 Bayscraper).

400 hours is pretty decent and you should get lots of good time on the boat. Hopefully it ws garaged. Check it over good for moisture exposure. They used more plywood on the older boats for the seats, etc that can rot but you should be able to tell by rust on engine, etc. I bought mine for 12,500 6 years ago and never regretted it.

Hey mike v. thanks for that info, i didn't know that MB Sports was also a descendant(sort of) of Brendella, and now i see where the MB comes from.

Ski Brendella did not go bankrupt. Mike brendel tried to sue the company for wrongful termination. The company simply closed there doors and reopened as Calabria.

Like Mike said, check for water damage on seat bases, floor and all around. Ask where it was stored in the winter months. Otherwise should be a sweet boat for you if you like and your gut feeling is good about it.
