Is 2 channels of my 6ch JL amp at 75 per channel enough power to make my new Fusions T series w/LED sound good. I know more power is better with the gain turned down but have I got reasonable power being supplied. I don't want to blast the rider, I want a reasonable balance between inside and out. Can a gain knob be use in my current equipment set up. My head unit is a Kenwuss 5028. I would like to run the bow speakers off the hu power because I want to not buy another amp if I can get away without it. The four other speakers are polk DB 675 currently all six are the amp. But again I want to remove and use two channels to power the new tower speakers. Can this work? Mikeski any thoughts?

I'm not a expert but I'm running a 300 JL on my Fusions. I would guess that 75 would be under powering them.

Tower speakers should be run in mono, so you'll be running them bridged. Looks like that amp pushes 140RMS when bridged into 8 ohms, and you really should look for more power. I'd buy a crappy amp off ebay that pushes 500RMS bridged into 2 ohms (more importantly look for something with at least a 50A fuse, not any specific output power rating) and you're good to go. You certainly don't need a nice sq amp to run tower speakers, if you spend over $200 for this amp you've spent to much.

Not to many cheap amps on Ebay that you can bridge to 2 ohms. Most amps are only good to 4 ohms bridged. Better off going with a high powered amp (750+ watts) running the tower speakers in series at 8 ohms bridged giving you clean cool power from the amp.

Plenty of mono amps though that you can run at 2 ohms (stay away from D class amps though)

Show me some, post some links I'd like to check those out for my setup.

Here is one for $90, I can list some more.

This one has a 60A fuse, so it will give you more than you need. Only problem is there is no high pass filter, but it sounds like he'll be using a output from that JL amp which will take care of the high pass.

Joe how can you use that amp to power tower speakers with a full range signal. I have just never heard of that before, and that amp has a built in low pass that scrubs out the high pass signal correct?

It does have a built in low pass filter, but it is enabled with a sliding switch. It acts just like a regular class AB amp when the low pass is off

So you can turn it to "off". So what's the deal with the class D amps, are you able to do this with these as well?

You could probably do the same thing with a class D mono, but nobody has been able to make a class D with low enough switching distortion for full range amplification. The distortion isn't especially obvious below 100Hz so class D works well for subs, but not for a full range speaker.

By the way, I agree with you that he would be better off with a two channel amp run at 8 ohms because it is so simple to add 2 more speakers at that point

Is there a preferred wiring kit or harness that good better, best for the fusions?
