Hey I dont have a boat and my rents dont plan on gettin one but for 1000 bucks a year I can ride at OWC all I want. I've had my pass for about a week now and have upped my riding to another level in that little time...if I were to keep this up would there be any hope of a sponsorship or something? Basically I just want to know if cable riders have any future in a wakeboarding career. Thanks

OWC discounts the passes in January.

Here's a site for you to check out:

Hey Matt, when it comes to sponsorship cable riders don't get the same kind of love that boat riders do. But congrats on getting a pass. I've had one since the first year of O'Dub and it's been a great value.

With gas prices rising, there is a lot of hope for the growth of cable wakeboarding in the USA. This year, WWA is holding a four round Cable Pro Wakeboarding Series in the USA. You should check out the WWA website for more information. My thought is that cable wakeboarding is the next big thing.

Both Tom Foshee (wakeboard) and Bret Little (Wakeskate) are primarily known for cable riding, and they are sponsored by Liquid Force.

Thanks,

Dude. Have you ever heard of Marc Shuster? Diego Shaw? These guys NEVER ride boat but they destroy the cable.

I believe you will see a huge explosion in the cable sceen in the next decade as they grow in number in the states. As of right now w/just 4 cables the sport(cable) is starting to get the respect it deserves in the U.S. Huge airs, tons of pop, rails and kickers all day long, and perfect 4 wakeskating. Not to mention the cost of gas now! Its the only way to ride for me. Then again, I don't have a boat either. Still get plenty of that in too though.
