stereo install

Our boat (Gekko GTO-22) did not come with a stereo. I'm wondering how much I should expect to pay for just a basic stereo install? (Equipment costs aside - just the install cost) We just put our tower on and it is already wired with a couple speakers. We're just looking for a basic "tunes on the water" setup - a deck and maybe two more speakers. Has anyone paid to have this done or did you all install your own?

4 clarion 6.5 speakers = $125
Installation (include drilling holes for speakers) = $200

Some places like Best Buy or Ciruit City install for free if you buy the deck from them.

I doubt the free install includes boats. When they do the free ones in cars, they just make you buy the plug and play harnesses. In a boat, you have to actually connect wires, and im not sure that the best buy guys are smart enough to do that. But if you're a basic do it yourselfer its pretty easy to install yourself. A lot easier in a boat than a car because less disassembly is required..

Best Buy installed my Sony head unit for free last summer. Didn't give me any attitude at all about it.

i have a friend that is an installer at best buy and you'd be surprised at the (good) quality of installers they have
