I was considering pulling my prop and having it machined since I've got a few dings in it. In the process, I was thinking that I could have the pitch changed a tad to give a bit more hole-shot, without the $400 expense of a new prop. <BR> <BR>Has anyone done this with success, or is re-pitching your prop not a normally recommended thing, and I should just bite the bullet and spring for the new one if I want a better pull with lots of ballast? <BR> <BR>Thanks.

I've had 2 props re-pitched. No problems, really helped the hole shot. Cost $110 in Tennessee.

it cost me $80.00 to get my prop redone and had it back in 3 days. They did a great job<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/smile.gif" border=0>

We hit something dinging the prop causing a vibration. I took it off and beat the dent out with a lead hammer and it ran perfectly. I decided to de-pitch it for better hole shot, took it to the best shop in the area, spent $150 and got back a prop that was so noisy that I could not stand it. Considering new props cost less than $350 shipped to my door from boarditup.com, I will never re-pitch a CNC prop again. <BR> <BR>Do you feel lucky??? If yes, then go to the prop shop. Based on my experiences, my suggestion is replace with new and keep the old as a spare.

I had my prop re-pitched, balanced and cupped. 75$ at a local prop shop. For the price re-pitched vs. new I go for the prop shop. I am very happy with mine.
