Erratic Speedo & PP

I have an issue on my 05 X-Star that is impacting my speedo and PP. It seems that the app and speedo will be reading perfectly while pulling a boarder, and for some reason will automatically shut itself off and read zero mph on the dash while still running at speed. Obviously this impacts the usage of the speed control. Any idea what might cause this?

Right off the bat, I'm going to say check the grounds going to your panel and to the gauge/perfect pass itself. If it's just shutting off completely, it could very well be a ground issue. A lot of the times, builders will put a small gauged lead over there and have that branch off or daisy chained to feed everything and overloading it. Perfect pass is very sensitive to having proper voltage and a good ground is the basis of that.

Otherwise, if it's not GPS speedo, check the pickup. You may have to clean it out if something is clogging it up.

Is the analog speedo dumping to 0 too? As I recall, 05 would have fed both off the paddle-wheel. If you're losing both, you've likely got an issue with the paddle wheel unit itself (which are super easy to swap out), or the wiring/connections in between. There should be a connector pretty close to the paddle-wheel in the bilge - can start there and make sure the connections tight and the contacts aren't corroded or anything.
