Was thinking about putting 220lbs of lead up front in my Nautique 94 has anyone any suggestions or tips on glassing it in or ways of keeping it in place so it doesn't shift around.
Lead is HEAVY. Wrap it in towel's or wrap it in duct tape, distribute it evenly and it most likely won't move around at all.
|
What would you think would be the max you should put up front? As it is hard to move around!

a bud of mine runs about 600 lbs in the nose of his SAN, which makes it miserable to drive and doesn't do much for the wake (my opinion). I think about half that is probably optimal, but depends on how much you have elsewhere in the boat.

Also, if you're using lead I'd keep it in smaller chunks, like 50lb chunks max. That'll both make it easier to move around plus it'll be more likely to fit.

We use PVC pipe. 3' x 2" with endcaps. Cut the lead in smaal chunks, fill the pipe and put endcaps on it. Easy to handle and very clean.
|
If you use PVC pipe, how do you keep the pipe from rolling around inside the boat?
