i need to replace my trailer jack. assuming the new one comes with instructions, but juse in case, has anyone ever done this before? i have no clue how to get the original off.

thanks.

Mine required snap ring pliers to get the rotating mount off. FYI...
|
I was just reading some old threads and i think mine may be welded to the trailer. i need to double check what piece i need. anyone else?

The two replacement jacks I've installed have four bolts that go through a plate welded to the tongue.

Fairly straightforward. But I have seen some like KState mentioned where the swivel hardware is integrated into the tongue.

Does it look like this?
http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=5800496

(on edit)I forgot I had this place bookmarked. You might be able to replace part of the jack if that would be easier.

http://www.easternmarine.com/em_store/jacks/

(Message edited by doug2 on April 24, 2008)

I just did this and KSTAE is correct; it did require snap ring or c-ring pliers.

its a boatmate trailer if that helps. i'm going to call boatmate later today.

I replaced one on a boatmate trailer last year. 4 bolts that held it on.

My 2000 model boatmate trailer required the C-clip removal.

Jman
