Lug nut help please
So here's the deal, I need to replace the lugs on my trailer because they were rusted on and after having the tires replaced 5 of them are broken.
Here's the problem, I can't get the new lugs in. I think I need to hammer them in however, I've never taken the disks off before. This is a 2007 trailer so do I need to take the greas nipple out to get to a nut holding the disk on?? My sound stupid, I just dont want to screw somthing up. thanks for the help. |
Are you talking about the studs? If so i'm assuming you have the rotors off, run them down to a tire store and have them pulled in with an air gun or pressed in as it eliminates them egging the hole by using a hammer. Yes it can be done but it's not the best option.

I had a similar experience and used two nuts on the stud to pull them through. This is not the ideal way to press a stud into a rotor and a lot of contention has been brought about by this. Personally I didnt mind doing this to one stud as I didnt want to have to pull the axle and repack the bearings etc. for one stud.
