Ive built a few wake skates that work faurly well but the one ive built out of ply wood wont hold its shape, it just goes flat. What would be my best option to hold the shape, i figure fiber glassing it or just using the resin might work, but any tip on what to do would be apreciated

i made one out of plywood and fiberglassed it i put a full sheet over the top and a couple layers of diangle strips across the bottom. Put it back in the mold after you put the fiberglass on and it hasnt hardend yet this will make sure the wood doesnt go flat before the glass hardens

HOw much does it cost you in material to fiberglass your wood decks?-

i just used fiberglass resin without any matting or anything and i got a fairly large can for 12 bucks cdn. there is enough in the can to make 2 decks probably

Mine hold just fine without fiberglass. What are you using to glue the wood together?

ive been building wakeskates out of cedar strips, and using fiberglass on the top and bottom with a layer of carbon fiber on the top... they are the lightest boards you will ever use... they make flip tricks and everything easier.

if you put skate griptape onto plywood will it stay on in the water? could u put the grip on then seal it on with somethin?

i guess this might sound stupid, but when you talk about this fibreglass resin, is this like a liquid that you like paint on? haha
