After seeing Luke Duke’s alternator bracket I had to get one for myself. This simple little hyme joint and treaded rod makes for a great easy way to get proper belt tension. <BR> <BR>Thanks for the Idea Luke. <BR>P.S you want my old one <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/389116.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/389117.jpg" alt="Upload">

Luke and I got ours at Mc Master car. Do you have a Nautique with a GT40. If so I could get the part #'s

I have a 1989 SN2001, it looks like it would work. The bar just looks like crap.

If the shaft was about 1-2 inches longer, you wont be on the ends of the heim joints when adjusting it. <BR> <BR>I am gonna see if my bro can make a longer one for me since he is a machinist. They have all kinds of thread taps and such.

What's the web site address? Can't find it on google.
|
<a href="http://www.mcmaster.com/" target="_blank">http://www.mcmaster.com/</a>

Thanks for the site address. That's an awesome site, spend hours looking at stuff. I guess I should get back to work now.
|
Luke: I order the same threaded rod as you. The 6-inch. If I had a smaller case alternator the 6 inch threaded rod would work perfect. My alternator's case is a bit larger than your HO alternator and therefore the distance between the mounts is closer so I needed to re-order a smaller 4-inch threaded rod. You can see from the pics that the joints are almost all the way out. A 5-inch rod would have worked out best but they don’t make that length.

Run down to OSH, they have all that stuff too
|
Jan, thats where I got all my parts except the shaft. The heim's are cheaper at OSH but only by a couple bucks.
