Ok so I am going to install my ballast system in my 99 Xstar and I am going to put the thru-hulls just below the rub rail for the vent/emty lines. what type of sealing product do I need to use to ensure a good seal. I know this is a basic question but I just wanted to know and I knwo that they are above the water line but I do not want water seaping from pray or anything into the boat from these areas.

Thanks in advance

Preston

3M 5200 marine sealant. Make sure your thruhulls are above level with the highest you would ever want to fill the sacks.

If you can't find the 5200, any marine silicone-based sealant will work. i've used these below the water line as well

I would stay away from 5200, try 4200 as this allows for dissasembly and is easier to work with or even the 3M marine grade silicone would work. look here
http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediawebserver.dyn?6666660Zjcf6lVs6EVs66SY6HCOrrrr Q-
