I havent rode the 15' timebomb but I did ride the 15' atr. Currently own a 15' code 22. For me, I loved the gen 2 (2012-2014) Ones. When they switched to a hybrid core in 2015 and thinned out the profile, the boards speed improved, but for me the pop changed in a bad way. Felt like the tip and tail were getting swallowed by the wake. In addition, I liked the speed/drag characteristics of my older One more. Plus the cupped surf edge on the old Ones was cool for butters. Enter the Code 22. It reminds me of my older One, but has the intelligence core and some extra bottom features for tracking. The board cuts like a freshly sharpened pair of skate on ice. I love it.
As far as why its getting dropped, Ive heard that Ronix thinks the Code 21 can function as a standalone board. Dropping the model frees up resources for other models. Something along those lines.
