Color is totally a personal decision but I would not go with a black/blue combination of anything because I was told long ago by a fashion person, "You don't wear black and blue together because black and blue is a bruise."

Something about that all black hull.... looks like one mean machine!!! LOVE IT!!!!! We love our Blue X2. But, if we could do it all over again, we'd get the solid black hull up to the rub rail (like above).

i ordered black from the rub rail down, and the accent stripe above the rub rail is going to be gunmetal flake. of all the ones i've seen, i think the black is the tightest.

if you guys havn't seen one with the stripe above the rail, i would greatly consider it. it ads alot to the boat, IMO. it is about the size of the stripe that would be above the rail on an x-2 until about the windshield, and then it flares up towards the rear. i really, really like it, but that's just me.

Does the tower fold down? The all black boat is gorgeous! How about a front shot??? It's got a nice butt but does it need a nose job?

oooh, I like that solid blue too. I do wish we went with a solid... but are happy overall. Travis, are you getting the x-star or x-2? Great choice on the color option but please be sure to post a picture. How do you recommend weighing down an X-2 for someone who rides at about 22-23.5 mph? (sorry to get a little off subject...) I've noticed that too much weight at a slower speed will wash the wake out. Someone told me that you would know best... Dodge: Post a pic when you get a chance!

Whatever your favorite color is get from the rub rail down. I think Mastercraft calls it the reverse hull color. I have seen an all black one which is hot. All red is also money. When you start mixing the colors on the hull I think it looks like crap - i just saw an Xstar with red sides and black bottom and it looked nasty.

Regarding the 03 X-Star..... I have a black/White 03' with the optional 350 Hp engine with all the options. I have also owned an 00 X-Star with the optional 330 Hp engine. I agree, it is a large boat and does require a larger engine and additional wieght. I fill the stock ballast (~1100 lbs) add two hippo bags (~550 lbs each) in back and 8 lead heads (65 lbs each)6 in the bow/2 midship = 2720 lbs total. I don't usually ride with a lot of people but the wake is "larger" than the 00 X-Star with equal weight. Granted it is different... 03 - 100 inch beam, 22'3 inches in length /00 - 90 inch beam, 20'7 inches. This may not sound like a lot but it is.. These # produce = 00 steeper ramp like wake / 03 less steep, huge ramp like wake. I ride @ ~24.2 mph with 2720 lbs ballast + a few riders. A few more things... The nose on the 03' rides so much lower than the 00 allowing obstruction free driving without the booster seat. The 00 nose rode so high the driver could barely see above the nose without booster = steeper wake. Anyway.. Overall the 03 X-Star is a large wakeboard boat best suited for the intermediate - advanced rider. However, by reducing ballast and or shortening the rope, a "beginner" can easily clear the both wakes...even at slow speeds. One really has to ride to the top of the wake, but if done correctly watch out!! Oh, double ups.. LOL try one if you dare! Have fun! CDM

Just my opinion but I don't like that black and red combo. Make it either all black or all red. Any pictures inside that boat? I would be curious to see what the red looks like inside the boat.

Texas Mastercraft had one on the lot in late July that was red above the rubrail, red main stripe, and a black bottom that looked great. The swim platform was color matched red and the trailer and cover were black. It looked great sitting on the trailer and I am sure it would in the water too.

That black and red is one of the nicest looking boats I have ever seen. My boat has color above the rub rail (yellow), and I will never get another boat without it (but will avoid black).
