Anybody know a good source for speaker clamps for 3" towers? Best I could find were Fusion brand at wakeside.com, but they are $70 each. Also, precisionmetalmachining.com has them for $77. Must be something less expensive out there by now???

That a big clamp, and I don't think you'll find them much cheaper. The only other way is homemade, but won't look very good, IMO.

Yeah, maybe you're right. I guess my math is bad, but I don't understand why mfg's can sell 2 1/2 clamps for $20, but the 2 7/8 is $77. Sounds more like supply and demand than mfg cost... (Message edited by nettlesbe on March 09, 2006) (Message edited by nettlesbe on March 09, 2006)

I started a speaker box business about 6 years ago and made boxes out of aluminum diamond plate. Check out boats for sale here and look for the 1999 Sanger DLX. I still have a couple pair of clamps that were made oval shape for the cross bars on the Master Craft towers. If your boat has these cross bars I have two sets left with quick release pins. These are machined out of aluminum. Let me know and I'll send you a pic and we can work out a screamin deal. jim

As far as realistic prices go. You are looking at 12.00 for a block of aluminim, The fully automated machines cost 70,000.00. Takes 20 min. for the machine to mill one clamp. You do the math!!!!! There is no way someone can make one for 20.00 out of machined aluminim. Unless your paying them .12 cents an hour. Just my 2 cents.

Jim, I know it sound cheap, but Pyramid machining has some for $16 on up, and Precision machining for $28. They are the same design, and I believe related. Like Raul left Precision to go to Pyramid, or something. Anyways, they are both good product - here's the link to their E-bay stores. http://stores.ebay.com/Pyramid-Manufacturing http://stores.ebay.com/Precision-Metal-Machining

I wish I knew him when I was elling boxes, I was paying 120.00 for a set of clamps and selling them for 150.00 Mine were three pieces though and had stainless steel pins so you could remove the speaker box. I might be ordering some cans for my new boat. Thanks for the infor.
